Wine: Rochford Isabella’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Vintage: 2012 Varieties: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Winemaker Tasting Notes: Deep red in colour. Dark cherry and blackcurrant are matched by spice, slight cabernet leafiness and subtle vanillin oak. This wine is all about structure; dark fruits support fine-grained tannin and healthy acid. These persistent elements will guarantee a good cellaring life. Drink now to 2025. Viticulture Notes: Located within two kilometers of Rochford’s Hill Road Winery at Coldstream – 40kms east of Melbourne, the grapes for this wine come from the property formerly known as Briarty Hill and re-named “Isabella’s Vineyard” upon its purchase in December 2009. This vineyard is situated at the eastern end of the contour that is home to some of the districts most celebrated vineyards, all of which share Briarty Road addresses. Grown on ancient, mountain derived sandy clay loams, these rocky soils combined with our thirty-year-old vines are at the heart of this wine A north-facing slope, protected from wind by the proceeding hill and frost, from the constant airflow. Harvest: Hand-picked 5th April Vinification: Short cold soak, natural fermentation lasting 10 days before a two week extended maceration. Elevage: 15 months in French oak barrels (30% new) Technical Data: Alcohol 13.4%
