Millbrook Pinot NoirVintage 2013 Region Pemberton 100% Variety Pinot Noir 100%
Vintage notesThe 2013 growing season in the Pemberton wine region was consistent and warm allowing for an even ripening of all varieties. The Pinot Noir is sourced from a 15-year-old single vineyard in the heart of Pemberton where cool nights and long, warm days are preferred for developing the delicate flavours in a variety that is best suited to cooler climates. The fruit was 100% de-stemmed to a small open fermenter and cold soaked for two days before being fermented with a Burgundy yeast strain. Following fermentation the wine was left on lees for a further nine months in 30% new and 70% two-year-old French oak.
ANALYSISAlcohol 13.6%, pH 3.7, TA 5.7 g/L
Tasting NotesColour Medium -deep ruby red
The wine displays the varietal characteristics of summer berry, cherry and spice with an underlying hint of savoury earthiness.
Fine, ripe tannins which are delicate and well structured. The cherry and berry fruit is sumptuous and lingers on the palate and is aptly supported by the subtle French oak. The wine is medium-bodied, tightly knit and focused.
