Cricket Flat 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon


Colour - Deep, rich red hue with a dark core

Aroma - Rich and voluptuous Cabernet from a strong Coonawarra vintage. Dark chocolate and ripe blackcurrant aromas, with backnotes of cedar, mocha, ripe tobacco and earthiness. 

Palate - Generous flavours. Classic Cabernet precision. Ample dark fruit drive and concentration, supported by fine and elegant tannins and a long finish. 

Food match - A perfect match with grilled lamb chops or steak, or to wash down matured cheddar cheese.

Region - Coonawarra

Source - 42Ha single vineyard planted to 19-year-old Reynella selection Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker - Phil Lehmann

Vinification - Fermented in closed static fermenters with 8 – 10 days on skins. Occasional pump-overs to increase maceration. 

Oak - Half of the blend was aged in second and third-fill French barriques and hogsheads for nine months with the remainder in stainless steel. Following this, the entire blend spent a further five months in old hogsheads.
